Ellie's Bangoo Party

So Ellie's auntie (Gomo Esther and her fiance, Uncle Timmy aka Uncle Candy) were over for the weekend. Ellie was so excited! So as we were in the car, Ellie asked us if we wanted to go to her Bangoo Party. BTW, bangoo means fart in Korean. Don't ask me why, but she's obsessed with talking about farts and poops lately. So Uncle Candy said, "no we can't go to the bangoo party it will be too smelly." And Ellie responded, no it won't be smelly you just have to shake your but after you bangoo. Then she proceeded to shake her booty super fast saying, "see it doesn't smell anymore."
As you can see Elijah on the right, he used to be such a great eater when it came to solids. He used to open his mouth every time the spoon came to his mouth. One time I was feeding him homemade green beans, and he cringed with each bite, but still would open his mouth each time the spoon came to his mouth, until he finished the whole bowl. It's cause he didn't know any better at the time. But now, he just doesn't open his mouth... ever! It sucks cause now I have to force feed him. He used to whine every time the spoon would enter his mouth, and that's when I'd give him his next bite (while his mouth was open)... Now he just cries/whines with his mouth closed. Man, he's growing up already... Baby Elijah's too smart for his own good.
I also posted a pic of some designs I'm making for my co-worker's granddaughter. I can't believe it's back to work tomorrow. I start feeling overwhelmed each time I think about work, cause it's just soooo busy now! Just rushing home, getting things done at home, pumping while at work, etc... It's a lot of work!

First Day of School

Today was the first day of school for my students. The teachers started on Monday of this week, and the students started today. It's weird being back after 8 months of not working. I felt a little anxious and nervous this morning thinking, "Do I even remember how to teach?" haha. Overall it seems like I have a great bunch of kids. But you know how it goes, they're always on their best behavior the first few days of school. This is what I call the honeymoon stage...
I wore some heels (ones that I used to wear prior to Elijah), and man, my feet were killing me so bad that I could barely get to my car. I used to wear it with no problems and it was pretty comfortable, but my feet must have grown from the pregnancy. I don't think I could do it anymore.
So I get home and Ellie is dressed like this. When you leave it up to Dave, she's usually in mismatched clothes and notice she only has one sock on. hahaha. Look at her polka dotted pants with her lil' tank top. Oh my, maybe I need to leave out clothes for her from now on...
I still can't believe I'm back to teaching. It's a weird feeling!Things just got busier. When I get home, things are go go go until I go to bed, which has been late all week. From pumping right when I get home to cooking the adults' meal, then Ellie's meal (she's picky) to Elijah's solids, washing dishes/bottles, it is hectic. I feel like I'm on fast motion all the time. Looking forward to when they're older so I could have some down time!

Wow, someone so little can have so much attitude!

Sorry I haven't written in awhile. To those following along. Haha, I don't think anyone even checks this blog anyway.
Ellie n Dave came back on Thursday afternoon. I missed Ellie so much! When she came back she ran up to me and gave me a huge hug and was rubbing my back at the same time. She kept saying, "awww, I missed you so much". She's so cute. I feel like the cuter she gets the more frustrating she gets. I didn't know someone so tiny can make my blood pressure rise so much. My blood pressure rises as much as a soldier in combat. She's been very uncooperative lately.... Makes me sad. I'm sure it's just a phase.... oh well *sigh*
I can't believe I go back to work tomorrow! Wow, time flies, I've been off since December so I'm so thankful I've had the last 8 months off. But I'm going to be sooooo sad leaving little Elijah. Starting tomorrow it will be the longest I've been away from him.  :( He's so adorable right now he's playing in his little saucer. He is so much more aware and playful it's adorable. He is constantly laughing and giggling it's the cutest thing. He weights 23 pounds now! He's a little chubster!

So Sad... :(

So sad, Ellie & Dave just left to go to Big Bear for the next few days....  :( It's always bitter sweet cause I'm glad to have some down time to myself, as I only have to watch one kid versus three, but I'ld rather have them here. I'll miss Ellie sooooo much. Please pray they get there safely and return safely. See you soon.

Food... with the Cousins

Today we went to Mollie's Famous Cafe in San Juan Capistrano. They have one of the best breakfast joints and it's served all day. Dave's cousins' kids (Ellie's 2nd cousins) spent the night last night. We've been eating way too much lately. Yesterday we took them to Curry House, one of Dave's favorite restaurants... We've been hanging out with Dave's cousins a lot, and every time we do, we are always eating, a little too much! And along with the eating comes weight gain. Ewww... Once I go back to work, I'll be back to my healthy eating habits. The cousins are currently watching Back to the Future 3. They've never seen the trilogy so we told them they need to see it cause it's a classic. They still haven't seen any of the Star Wars movies, so that will be next. I've made a few more adjustments to my website (www.elliesfavoritethings.com), but it's nowhere where I want it to be, so there's still more to be done. .. But anyways, it's getting late, so I'm going to go to sleep.

Dad's Bday

My dad just celebrated his 66th birthday yesterday. I can't believe he's 66. So weird. It sucks watching your parents get older. In a way, I wish I could just freeze time and be this age forever and have my kids stay this small forever. I try to take mental pictures of my baby and Ellie every day cause I know they will not stay this little forever. It's the little things we experience each day that we look back on and realize they were really the biggest things.
Anyways, we celebrated by taking my dad out to dinner on Sunday at a Korean BBQ. Yesterday on his actual birthday, we brought over some cake (well pie from Marie Calendars cause that's what Dave likes - he LOVES pies) and sang him happy birthday. Of course we went to get him a birthday card that Ellie picked out from Target. She picked out a pirate cartoon theme. She likes to write cards for people, actually I write while she tells me what to write. It's usually a hodge podge of random stuff.
Oh ya, this is something new Ellie does. After she goes number 2, she'll say, I want to see the family. Meaning she wants to see her poop. Then she says something like this, "ooh, I see ah-bah (daddy) poo, uh-mah poo (mommy) and baby poo. Ooh that's Ellie poo, and that's Elijah poo." She is soooo silly. (Sorry if this is TMI for some of you... haha)
It felt great to get 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep last night. The night prior was no fun. On Monday night, I got fragmented sleep for a total of 4 hours. It's always harder when you get 30 minutes here and you're up for 2 hours, sleep for 1 hour, up for 1 hour, sleep for 1.5 hours and up for the rest of the day. I'd rather get consolidated sleep any day. Well, I am about to watch my favorite show online, project runway, so peace out, and thanks for following. (My 2 peeps which includes myself... haha)

Our Anniversary Celebration

Last night we went to Morton's Steakhouse to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary. Our friends Grace, Alex, Julie & Kirk offered to watch our kids. Really nice gesture on their part. Our reservation was at 7:30, however we arrived at 6:50 and they got us in right away. When we arrived our hostess said, "congratulations on your anniversary," and my reaction was, "how did you know?" and she said, "oh, she called in and let us know." That was so sweet of Grace to call and tell them while we were on our way. They had a personalized menu for us that said, "Happy Anniversary Mr. & Mrs. Chung" on the top of the menu, and they came by and took a picture for us. Really nice touch. The ambiance was great and the management, host, everyone but our waiter were awesome. Our waiter was okay, but he was not very personable. He seemed rushed and we sensed it, so we felt pressured to order quickly. When he brought over the cart with all of the meats, seafood and vegetables, he didn't even really tell us about the options. However, I noticed the waiter next to us took his sweet time and went into detail about the options on the cart to his guests. I did ask our waiter, where is your accent from? And he said with a smile, "L.A." Hahaha, what L.A.? I said? I thought you were from the east coast, and he said that he gets that a lot. Weird, he has this fake accent going on, or maybe it's just the way he talks. Anyways, being at this fancy restaurant brought out Dave's gentleman manners. This was weird, cause I'm not used to it. When we arrived at the restaurant, Dave said, I"ll tell them we have reservations, usually it's me talking to the hostess. When I got up to go to the restroom, he stood up as well to help me back my seat out. When I came back, he stood up to get me back into my seat. As we were leaving, he opened the door for me on the way out. Wow, I guess Morton's brings out a different side of Dave! haha... It was a great and awesome dinner, so thanks Dave & the Satos' & Lau's for watching the kids.

What is Up

What is up with Ellie? She has been rebellious to no end. She went from being this sweet, cooperative, cute little girl to being extremely difficult. It makes me so sad...  :(  I used to look at other kids and think, wow, that child is out of control, and now that child has become my child. I guess it's pay back for all the times I thought, "wow get your child under control cause he/she is nuts!" I never thought it would be more stressful and draining raising a rebellious toddler rather than raising an infant! They definitely test your patience to no end. If ya other mothers out there feel me... hollah! haha. I hope it's just a phase, a short phase.
Well, yesterday was our 8th wedding anniversary (I can't believe how fast time flies), so we went to Irvine Spectrum with the kids and ate at Veggie Grill. For dessert, we went to Crepe Maker to get some yummy crepes. Ellie was in love and kept saying, "can I have some more grapes?" haha. Tomorrow, Dave & I will have our first date night in 3 YEARS, thanks to Grace & Julie (they'll be baby sitting). We will be going to Morton's Steakhouse for the first time. I've heard great things about it and can't wait to try it! Just to have some time alone and eat in peace will be a real treat.

Conversation with Ellie

So last week sometime, Ellie and I had this conversation. She looked at the top of my hair and said, "uh-mah, you have white muhdee (hair)", and I said, "ya, it's because I'm getting old." She replied, "old?... like very old halmee (grandma)?." And I said, "uh huh." Then she looked sad and said, "but I don't want you to get old." I said, "It's okay, everyone gets older and older everyday. One day, when I'm old, I'm going to go to heaven to be with God, just like Scoobi (our old chihuahua)." Then she said the cutest thing, "it's okay uh-mah (mom), when you get very old, I'm going to take care of you."  Ellie looked down with a sad look on her face and said, "but I don't want you to go to heaven, I want you to stay with me," in her sappy voice. I said, "it's okay heaven is a happy place, I get to be with God, and when you're old too one day, you'll go to heaven and we'll be together again." She said she didn't want to go to heaven. So I replied when we all go to heaven, we get young again. She looks up with this sad look almost crying and says, "I'm so happy...." with tears rolling down her face. Hahaha. She's so cute and so funny.

Ellie and Her Scary Pose

So, Ellie is now 3.5 years old. I can't believe she's going to be 4 soon. Time really flies by way too fast! This is one her favorite poses. She made this one up on her own. She used to do pretty poses, but now she likes to do the scary pose. She's so silly. You might get lucky and see her do this pose in person. She used to be a total ham in front of anyone including strangers. But that was when she used to be 2 years old. Now she's 3 so she's too cool for that. She now only performs when she feels like it or when she's around people she likes... hahaha.
All 3 kids are currently asleep while I'm pumping of course. I was trying to sleep in but couldn't. Last night was a difficult night. Elijah woke up at midnight, 1am, 2am and 3:00am. I finally fed him around 3:40 since he wouldn't go back to sleep. He's usually a good sleeper, but last night was a different story.  He's still sleeping but I see him moving around in the monitor which means he'll want another bottle. It's bittersweet, because I love how he's getting older (he was 7 months yesterday) but I hate how he's getting older.  :(  I love how he's getting older because it does get easier as they get bigger, but I hate how he's outgrowing the little baby stage. He is still adorable, but that little newborn/infant stage is just soooo sweet. I already miss it. Okay, it's time for another baby. j/k I think I'm done, but it all depends on the day. Some days I want another one, and some days I'm thinking heck no!
So the graphic you see on top is of Ellie wearing her rainbow dress that she's wearing for her scary pose. It's one of her favorite dresses so I had to make a cartoon character of her wearing it... Along with chubba wubba Elijah. He's 22 pounds now!

Hello!

Hello everyone! So, I just got this blogging thing going thanks to the suggestion of my friend Suzie. Just hanging out while Ellie is eating her lunch and Elijah's sleeping. She's eating her Mickey Mouse chicken nuggets and she turned them upside down pretending it's a car. She's so silly. Ellie's super excited cause her aunt's coming to visit. The first thing she said when she woke up was, "I have to wear a dress today so I could look pretty for gomo (auntie) Julie."

If you haven't checked out my website yet, visit: www.elliesfavoritethings.com. I'm planning on making more adjustments to my website, cause I'm not too excited about the way it looks. Gotta get the slide show to load up faster, and post some more pics of my products. I will be working on a butterfly graphic this week and a tennis racket as presents for Ellie's Sunday School teachers. Gotta go, Elijah might already be waking up after a 45 min nap, he's already moving around.
